Market Research Jobs

February 1, 2010 by Sushant

Research is an intrinsic part of every organisation. It gives you insight of how the organisation is perceived by the target audience. What is actually required by customer and to what extent are you able to satiate their taste.

Some consider research a waste of money, but it only those who have used it to their advantage and have gained out of it and thus know the value of market research.

The markets in India being a bit disorganised, research gets a bit difficult. Especially in the rural areas where people are less educated and illiterate. Researching and discussing with them gets a bit difficult, as they are unable to express their true desires.

Market research jobs are critical as one message is derived from the entire findings. This message is carried forward full fledged into the marketing and sales department.  Ideas are created and communications are made based on the research and findings.

Market research is a huge task. Many people are involved in this department. Some employees will be designated to go to individuals and fill in the forms.  Others have to assimilate the information. More have to collect data from different age groups and so on. Then once all the data is collected which sometimes takes months at an end, information is read and skimmed. A general opinion is formed by the reviewers. A final decision is taken from all the information at hand and a report is documented.

This report is then produced before the client, by the market research team. After long deliberations and discussions on what the research has decoded the final communication is decided.
